Nutrition Labels Take the Next Step

Consumers have forever ignored the small, congested, black and white labels, which is why there is a proposal to improve the format of nutrition labels on the back of all packaged foods. America has especially struggled with obesity in the past few years, but with more Americans knowing about the foods they are feeding their bodies, the more hope we get for a healthier tomorrow. These new and improved labels are going to have more accurate serving sizes and more emphasis on what is bad and what is good for you. This will potentially make it an easier choice to eat healthy. The ingredients and the way they are processed will become more clear to the consumer so that you know exactly what you are ingesting. The food industry is very understandably becoming worried about their products selling anymore. Their dirty little secrets of what they are actually feeding our nation will finally be revealed to the public. Ideas of red, yellow, and green colors advertising if a food is a "go", "slow", or "whoa" food are being considered so that the message is able to get across to those of all ages. Hopefully, this new improvement to the oh-so-familiar food labels we see everyday will be the solution to trimming the waistband of America. For more information on the subject, click here.
